Revisiting Forte 2021
Airline Sol landed from its worldwide trip last September 11, as Forte 2021 came to a close. For an event that revolved around the theme of travel, Forte 2021 showcased a breathtaking display of musical brilliance that left the audience yearning for the freedom and excitement of traveling to distant lands.
Forte 2021 was held from September 10 to September 11. The September 10 show took place at 6PM via AnimoSpace, while the September 11 show took place at 2PM via a private Facebook group and 6PM via Youtube. The event was outlined by soloists, group soloists, and orchestra performances. The soloist performances featured renditions of timeless classics by Johann Sebastian Bach, Frederic Chopin, and Jose Hisaishi. The group soloists, on the other hand, performed songs by Minami Dizon, MIki Matsubara, Marco de Mesa, and Anomalie. Finally, the event truly delivered on its theme of travel through its orchestral performances; as we went from the Philippines to Japan, the United States, South Korea, and back home. The sight of every LYO performer executing each medley was something to behold, as it was incredibly inspiring and moving.
In the spirit of travel, LYO partnered with the Blas Ople Policy Center and Training Institute, an organization dedicated to protecting and advocating for Filipino migrant worker’s rights and welfare. As such, 10% of the proceeds from Forte 2021 was donated to the organization in support of their cause and mission.
The Lasallian Youth Orchestra truly outdid themselves with Forte 2021, and it can only be certain that the audience will be craving for more in the near future.
